We have partnered with FrontStream Payments to provide PCI compliant credit card processing to our e-commerce clients. FrontStream offers a secure e-commerce gateway allowing an online transaction to occur on the FrontStream PCI compliant servers rather than on an Adhost or client server. In addition they offer competitive processing rates and several Adhost clients have already saved money by switching to FrontStream from their current credit card processor.

How it works...

The Argofire Gateway is an e-commerce gateway (similar to Authorize.net, USAePay, etc.) that securely connects the e-commerce shopping cart to the processing bank platform to obtain credit card transaction authorizations and batch settlements.

The unique element in this Gateway is the new "eCom" application (aka Pay Tunnel). This feature allows the actual transaction to occur on Frontstream PCI compliant servers as opposed to the Adhost or client servers. It then delivers a secure "token" back to your site with the authorization to be used for voids, adjustments, etc.

When the eCom is in use, the purchasing customer on your website will not see any difference in the checkout process. For Adhost customers, this takes the majority of PCI Compliance responsibilities and costs away from you and over to Frontstream.

What it costs...

If you transfer your card processing to Frontstream, the Argofire Gateway is offered at a very competitive standard price of $9.95/month and $.02/transaction. The monthly pricing includes the Argofire Gateway, McAfee vulnerability scans and breach insurance up to $150,000.

For processing, Frontstream's pledge is to match your current processing margin as long as it does not bring them below cost. Based on volume and transaction count, Frontstream may lower or even eliminate this pricing.

If you prefer to keep your current processor, the Gateway is offered at $25/month and $.05/transaction.

In either case, there are no up front costs from Frontstream for transitioning to their processing or to the Gateway. All pricing/fees come after you are set up with Argofire and the Pay Tunnel. Usually, Frontstream can have a merchant approved for processing in less than a business week.

Integration

As with any gateway / shopping cart integration, there is some programming time to connect your e-commerce application to the gateway. Integration time will vary depending on your platform , but because Adhost worked with Frontstream on the Argofire Gateway programming interface, we are usually able to deploy to your site in less time than required for other gateways - usually, just a few hours.
